Hola mi amigos! Not sure if I’m making a major blogger faux pas with this post, but I do like to live on the edge, so here we go.

The below post is from LAST summer…….yes my friends, I wrote it and edited and just never posted. Why? I have absolutely no idea why, but here it is. Hope you enjoy and just pretend it’s from this year because the look is pretty much the same. I will make some updates this summer and post about it THIS summer 🙂

Previously written – 7/18

Some of you may or may not know that I left my ball and chain, otherwise known as my office job for the  “pursuit of “happyness“. Not saying I wasn’t happy, I just felt like my creativity was stifled and that I was suffocating, gasping for air, dying a little bit everyday inside; but still happy 🙂

( you know I have to deliver the dramatics)

Well, it seems to me now, that the old ball and chain my have been the very catalyst that I needed to keep my creative juices flowing. I know, it makes absolutely no sense! You would think that with all the free time on hand to get my hands dirty in my soulwork (home decor) that I’d have so much content….and I do have a ton of projects to work on, but, (and please don’t stop reading and smack the screen) I just can’t seem to carve out the time to get them done. I KNOW!!!!!!!!!! I keep telling my husband that it may be time for me to go back to work, because I need to relax a bit! The free time has me on the go pretty much all day, every day and it’s insane. I’m sure the sunny skies and reasonable gas prices have a lot to do with my constant movement as well.

I’m sure by now, if you’re still reading, you’re wondering what the point of this post is right? Well I did check off one little project from my long list this summer and it was a mini patio makeover. For the 6 years that we’ve been in this house, the hubster keeps talking about what he envisions for our backyard/patio and they are all FAB; however, the area still looks like it did 6 years ago.  Blank stare to the highest degree.

I was determined to do something, anything with the outside space this summer because in my mind, I’d be home and I’d have a lot of time to sit out and relax. Well as we all know now, that was a big fat lie. However, I did spruce it up a bit.

This is my blank, plane jane patio before……

Boring, basic and pretty small.

Below is what I put together so I can at least enjoy the outdoors without leaving my house…

In the spirit of complete transparency, you may notice that I had to change out my table. My original one, you’ll see snippets of it below, was solid wood and I didn’t make it home in time one fateful day of a torrential rain and that was all she wrote 😦

But due to my ever so growing curator (hoarding) skills, I was easily able to switch it out for my two rattan side tables seen in the beginning of the post.

Links to similar, if not even better, items shown throughout.

Enjoy the summer everyone!
